Perforomist® (formoterol fumarate) Inhalation Solution is a long-acting beta2-agonist indicated for long-term, twice-daily (morning and evening) administration in the maintenance treatment of bronchoconstriction in patients with COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Important Safety Information
There is an increased risk of asthma-related death with long-acting beta2-agonists, the class of drugs to which Perforomist® Inhalation Solution belongs. Perforomist® Inhalation Solution is not indicated for asthma or in deteriorating COPD. Perforomist® Inhalation Solution should not be used to treat acute symptoms, which should be treated with an inhaled short-acting beta2-agonist.

Spiriva® HandiHaler® is indicated for the long-term, once-daily maintenance treatment of bronchospasm associated with COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
Spiriva® HandiHaler® is not indicated for the initial treatment of acute episodes of bronchospasm; ie, rescue therapy.
